Chapter Seven – Claiming the Doll

Panic rises in Bella’s throat at the implication. Before she can formulate a response, Bridgette interjects sharply.

Watch yourself, Carter, she warns, her tone icy. Bella is mine. The collar is merely…a formality.

Carter raises his hands in mock surrender, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. Of course, Bridgette. Far be it from me to step on your toes. His gaze flicks back to Bella, undeterred by Bridgette’s rebuke. Though I must say, I’m surprised to see you here at all. Word on the street is that our mutual friend Lucien is still rather perturbed about the whole Barcelona fiasco…

Bella shifts uncomfortably in her seat, the tension in the vehicle palpable. She can feel the animosity radiating off Bridgette, the icy disdain directed at Carter. Carter, unfazed, leans back and keeps talking, plainly enjoying himself.

Oh come now, Bridgette. Surely you didn’t think Lucien would just forget about that little incident? A missing ponygirl is no small matter, especially when it involves one of his biggest clients.

Bridgette’s jaw clenches, her eyes narrowing dangerously. That was a misunderstanding, Carter. One that has been resolved.

Carter chuckles, a sound that grates on Bella’s nerves. Has it though? Last I heard, Lucien was still demanding compensation. Something about a debt owed…

Bella listens intently, trying to piece together the fragments of conversation. A missing ponygirl? Compensation? Debt owed? Her mind races, attempting to connect the dots. Could this be related to her sister’s disappearance somehow?

As the SUV comes to a halt, Bella realizes they’ve arrived at their destination. Peering out the window, she sees a grand resort nestled among the trees, its modern architecture seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings.

The door opens, and the driver, James extends a hand to help Bella out of the vehicle. She accepts gratefully, her legs wobbling slightly as she stands. The cool evening air is refreshing against her heated skin, carrying with it the salty tang of the nearby ocean.

Bridgette and Carter emerge from the SUV, their expressions serious as they continue their discussion. Bella hangs back awkwardly, unsure of her place in this strange new environment.

James leads Bella to the side, allowing Bridgette and Carter to continue their heated discussion in relative privacy. As they move away, the chauffeur offers her a sympathetic smile. Don’t mind them, miss. Business can get messy sometimes, especially in our line of work.

Bella nods uncertainly, still processing the snippets of conversation she overheard. Missing ponygirls, angry clients, debts owed…it’s all so surreal, like something out of a crime novel or spy movie. And yet, here she is, smack dab in the middle of it all.

Bella shifts her weight nervously, the towering heels pinching her toes and throwing off her balance. She glances back at Bridgette and Carter, noting the tense set of their shoulders and furrowed brows. Clearly, whatever issue they’re discussing is far from trivial.

James clears his throat softly, drawing Bella’s attention back to him. Miss, if I may…it’s best not to get involved in matters concerning Mr. Dubois. He’s a powerful man, with friends in high places. Best to stay out of his crosshairs, if you catch my meaning.

Bella understands the warning in James’ words. Lucien Dubois…she knows that name. She remembers him from the yacht party – the suave Frenchman who talked about shipments the way other men talk about the weather, the way he kissed her hand and openly admired her despite Bridgette’s obvious displeasure. The memory of his lips brushing against her skin makes her shudder involuntarily.

Glancing around, Bella takes in the opulent resort grounds, marveling at the stark contrast between the pristine landscaping and the untamed wilderness surrounding it. Manicured lawns stretch out before her, dotted with fountains and statues that wouldn’t look out of place in a royal garden.

This way, Miss, James gestures politely, leading Bella towards a cobblestone path that winds through the expansive gardens. She follows obediently, her heels clicking against the smooth stones. The evening air is cool and damp, carrying with it the scent of saltwater and distant thunder.

As they walk, Bella can’t shake the nagging sense of foreboding that has settled over her like a shroud. The mention of Lucien Dubois, coupled with the apparent discord between him and Bridgette, has left her feeling increasingly uneasy. What exactly transpired in Barcelona? And why does Lucien seem intent on holding Bridgette accountable?

Lost in thought, Bella barely notices when they arrive at a grand entranceway, its ornate double doors thrown open in welcome. Inside, a lavish reception hall buzzes with activity – servers circulate trays of champagne and hors d’oeuvres, while elegantly dressed guests mingle and chat animatedly.

Your mistress will meet you inside, Miss, James informs her, giving a slight bow before departing.

As Bella steps into the opulent reception hall, she’s immediately struck by the sheer extravagance of her surroundings. Crystal chandeliers sparkle overhead, casting a warm glow over the polished marble floors. Intricate tapestries adorn the walls, depicting scenes of mythical creatures and heroic battles. The air is heavy with the mingled scents of expensive perfumes and the mouthwatering aromas emanating from the buffet tables.

Scanning the room, Bella’s eyes widen as she takes in the array of attendees. Men and women alike are decked out in their finest attire – designer suits and gowns, glittering jewelry, and shoes that probably cost more than her entire wardrobe combined. Among them, she spots a few familiar faces from previous events, as well as some new additions that pique her curiosity.

Near the bar, a striking dark haired woman catches Bella’s attention. Dressed in a form-fitting red dress that accentuates her ample curves, the woman exudes confidence and sex appeal. As if sensing Bella’s gaze, she turns and locks eyes with her, a slow smile spreading across her crimson lips.

Feeling self-conscious under the woman’s scrutiny, Bella quickly averts her gaze, focusing instead on finding Bridgette among the throng of guests. However, before she can locate her captor, a familiar voice cuts through the din of conversation.

Well, well…if it isn’t the lovely Bella. What a pleasant surprise.

Bella’s stomach drops as she turns to face the source of the greeting. Standing before her is none other than Lucien Dubois, his dark eyes moving over her scantily-clad form like a buyer’s at a viewing. An involuntary shudder runs through her body at the memory of their previous encounter – the way he’d kissed her hand, his lips lingering just a fraction too long against her skin.

Mr. Dubois, Bella manages. It’s…nice to see you again.

Lucien chuckles, a low, throaty sound that sends goosebumps racing along Bella’s arms. Please, call me Lucien. And the pleasure is all mine, I assure you.

Stepping closer, he reaches out to trail a finger along the exposed curve of her shoulder, his touch searing her flesh like a brand.

Bella’s breath hitches in her throat as Lucien’s finger traces a searing path along her shoulder. She can feel the heat radiating from his body, the subtle scent of his cologne invading her senses. It’s intoxicating and terrifying all at once, leaving her feeling dizzy and disoriented.

I must say, you’re looking absolutely ravishing this evening, Lucien murmurs, the French in his vowels softening every word. Bridgette has certainly worked her magic on you.

His gaze lingers pointedly on the bare expanse of her neck, the absence of a collar not lost on him. For a moment he looks like a man checking a figure in a ledger and finding it exactly as he expected.

Tell me, my dear…have you enjoyed your time with our esteemed hostess? Has she treated you well?

There’s an underlying edge to his question, a subtle hint of something more sinister lurking beneath the surface. Bella is suddenly, acutely aware of the dangerous game she’s become embroiled in.

As Bella struggles to formulate a response to Lucien’s loaded question, she’s saved by the sudden appearance of a familiar face. Cutting through the crowd with the grace of a queen is none other than Genevieve, her icy silver hair glinting under the chandelier lights. She’s draped in a shimmering gown that hugs her lithe figure like a second skin, her sharp brown eyes settling on Bella like a collector’s on a sculpture she intends to own.

Well, well…if it isn’t the delectable Bella, Genevieve says coolly, sidling up beside Lucien. Still under Bridgette’s wing, I see.

Her gaze flickers to the bare expanse of Bella’s neck and stays there, like a curator eyeing an empty plinth. Though it seems our dear hostess hasn’t quite claimed you as her own. Not officially, anyway.

Lucien chuckles, a low rumble. Indeed. Perhaps there’s still hope for our little doll after all.

The two exchange a meaningful glance, communicating volumes without uttering a single word. Bella feels like a mouse trapped between two hungry cats, their combined attention making her skin crawl with unease.

Trapped between Lucien and Genevieve, Bella feels increasingly overwhelmed. Their combined scrutiny is suffocating, like a weight pressing down on her chest. She knows she should excuse herself, seek refuge in the crowd or, preferably, locate Bridgette. And yet, some perverse part of her craves their attention, revels in the knowledge that two such powerful individuals find her desirable.

Now, now, Lucien chides, all warm reassurance and none of it meant. No need to look so frightened, little one. We merely wish to get better acquainted with you.

Genevieve nods in agreement, her eyes never leaving Bella’s face. Indeed. After all, we’ve heard such fascinating things about you from Bridgette. It’s only natural that we’d want to experience your charms firsthand.

Her words are honeyed poison, laced with unspoken promises and threats. Bella’s mouth goes dry.

Feeling cornered and increasingly uncomfortable, Bella takes a small step backward, creating some distance between herself and the pair. Her eyes dart around the room, searching desperately for any sign of Bridgette.

I…I really should find my mistress, Bella stammers. She’ll be looking for me.

Lucien’s eyes narrow slightly, a flicker of annoyance crossing his features. Ah yes, the elusive Bridgette. Always keeping her pets on a tight leash, isn’t she?

Genevieve chuckles, a sound like ice crystals tinkling in a glass. Indeed. Though I must say, it’s rather surprising that she’s allowed you to wander about unsupervised. Especially considering the company.

Her gaze flicks meaningfully to Lucien, who inclines his head as if conceding a point in a negotiation. Quite right, my dear. One might almost think Bridgette is growing…careless.

The implication hangs heavy in the air, a tangible threat. She knows instinctively that these two are not to be trusted, their polite façades masking something far more sinister.

Lucien steps closer, his presence looming over Bella like a storm cloud.

You know, my dear, he murmurs, as smoothly as a man naming his price. There are those who would pay a pretty penny for a chance to spend some quality time with a rare beauty like yourself. Especially one so…untouched.

Genevieve lets out a low chuckle, her eyes glinting with malicious amusement. Indeed. Such an opportunity doesn’t come along every day. One might even say it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

Before Bella can respond, she feels a firm hand grasp her upper arm, pulling her gently but insistently away from Lucien and Genevieve. Relief washes over her as she turns to see who her savior is – James, the stoic chauffeur from earlier.

Apologies, sir, madam, James addresses Lucien and Genevieve politely but firmly. Ms. Short requires Bella’s presence immediately.

Lucien’s expression darkens, his eyes flashing with irritation. Of course she does. Always keeping her precious little doll on a short leash.

Genevieve merely smirks, a knowing glint in her eye. Until next time, Bella darling. Do give Bridgette our regards.

With that, James leads Bella away from the pair, guiding her through the crowded reception hall. As they walk, adrenaline still courses through Bella’s veins from the tense encounter, and her legs are not quite steady in her heels.

Thank you, James, Bella breathes, gratitude coloring her words. I…I wasn’t sure how to get away from them.

James nods, as stoic as ever. Ms. Short instructed me to keep an eye on you. She suspected there might be trouble.

As James leads Bella through the opulent reception hall, she can feel the weight of dozens of eyes upon her. The other guests – mostly wealthy, influential types – regard her with varying degrees of curiosity, envy, and blatant lust. Under their scrutiny, Bella feels both empowered and deeply uncomfortable, a strange dichotomy that sends contradictory signals racing through her body.

James guides her towards a secluded alcove, partially shielded from view by a lush arrangement of tropical plants. Here, at least, Bella can catch her breath and gather her scattered thoughts. The interaction with Lucien and Genevieve has left her feeling shaken, vulnerable in a way she hasn’t experienced since first arriving on Bridgette’s island.

The chauffeur’s expression softens slightly. It’s my job to ensure your safety and wellbeing, miss. Ms. Short takes her responsibilities very seriously.

Something in his tone catches Bella’s attention – a note of genuine concern, perhaps even protectiveness.

James leads Bella through a series of opulent hallways, each one more lavish than the last. They pass by ornate sculptures, elaborate paintings, and intricate tapestries that seem to tell stories of ancient mythology and forgotten legends. Bella can’t help but marvel at the sheer wealth and decadence on display, feeling simultaneously awed and intimidated by her surroundings.

Eventually, they reach a set of double doors carved from rich mahogany wood. James pauses briefly, knocking softly before opening one of the doors and ushering Bella inside. The room beyond is a sprawling suite, dominated by a massive four-poster bed draped in silken fabrics and plush pillows. A crackling fireplace casts a warm glow over the space, bathing everything in a soft, romantic light.

Standing near the window, gazing out at the moonlit landscape, is Bridgette. She turns as Bella enters, her expression softening into a smile of genuine affection. There you are, my doll. I was beginning to worry about you.

Bella feels a rush of relief at seeing Bridgette, coupled with an unexpected surge of longing.

I…I’m sorry, Bella stammers. Lucien and Genevieve…they cornered me and I didn’t know how to get away.

Bridgette’s eyes narrow dangerously, a flicker of anger crossing her features. Did they touch you? Harm you in any way?

Bella shakes her head quickly. No, nothing like that. But they said some things…about you, and about me. Things I didn’t understand.

Bridgette crosses the room in a few swift strides, closing the distance between them. Her hand reaches out to cup Bella’s cheek, tilting her face upward until their eyes meet. The touch is gentle yet firm, filled with a possessive energy Bella feels all the way down to the steel at her hips.

Tell me everything, Bridgette commands softly, her thumb stroking Bella’s cheekbone in a soothing motion. Every word they spoke, every gesture they made. Leave nothing out.

Bella hesitates, torn between the desire to share everything with Bridgette and the fear of becoming entangled in whatever feud simmers between her and Lucien. Seeing the anger flashing in Bridgette’s eyes, she opts for caution, deciding to omit the parts about herself for now.

Carter said something in the car about Barcelona, Bella begins tentatively. About a missing ponygirl, and that Lucien is still demanding compensation. A debt owed…

Bridgette’s expression darkens, her jaw clenching as she absorbs this information. That bastard, she mutters under her breath, more to herself than to Bella. Always pushing, always scheming.

Bella watches warily as Bridgette paces the room, her movements agitated and restless. She can feel the tension radiating off her captor, like a storm brewing on the horizon. Instinctively, she knows this is a dangerous topic, one fraught with potential consequences she can’t begin to fathom.

Finally, Bridgette stops pacing and turns to face Bella, her expression softening slightly. Listen to me, doll, she says, her voice low and urgent.

Bridgette takes both of Bella’s hands in hers. Lucien is a dangerous man, my doll. Ruthless and calculating. He sees you as a pawn in his game against me. But I won’t let him hurt you. I promise you that.

Something in Bella’s chest loosens at the sincerity in Bridgette’s voice, the fierce protectiveness in her eyes. Despite everything, she can’t help but believe her, trust in the strength and power Bridgette exudes.

But why does he hate you so much? Bella asks softly, her curiosity getting the better of her. What happened between you two?

Bridgette sighs and lets go of Bella’s hands. She turns to gaze out the window, her expression contemplative. It’s a long story, doll. One that goes back many years. Suffice it to say, Lucien and I were once allies, partners even. But greed and ambition drove us apart. Now, he seeks to destroy me at every turn.

Bella listens intently, hanging on Bridgette’s every word. She can sense the pain and bitterness behind her captor’s story, the raw emotion evident in her voice. It’s a rare glimpse into Bridgette’s past, a vulnerability she seldom displays.

As Bridgette falls silent, lost in thought, Bella wrestles with a barrage of conflicting emotions. Sympathy for Bridgette’s plight wars with her own precarious situation, the constant fear and uncertainty that have become her norm. And yet, beneath it all, there’s an undeniable pull towards Bridgette – a twisted sense of loyalty and dependence that has grown stronger with each passing day.

Stepping closer, Bella reaches out tentatively, her fingers brushing against Bridgette’s arm. I…I’m sorry, she murmurs softly. That must have been terrible for you.

Bridgette turns to face her, a sad smile playing at the corners of her mouth. It was, doll. But I survived, grew stronger. And now, I have you.

Her words send warmth flooding through Bella, a sense of belonging and acceptance that she’s craved for so long. Without thinking, she leans into Bridgette’s embrace, resting her head against the older woman’s shoulder.

In Bridgette’s arms, Bella feels a sense of peace and security wash over her, temporarily banishing the fears and doubts that plague her mind. She breathes in the scent of Bridgette’s perfume, a heady mix of exotic flowers and warm spices that seems to wrap itself around her like a protective cloak.

As they stand there, locked in a tender embrace, Bella’s thoughts drift to the upcoming auction. A knot of anxiety forms in her stomach, mingling with an undeniable thrill of anticipation. What horrors and delights await her at this clandestine event? Will she be forced to confront her darkest fears, or perhaps discover new depths of pleasure she never imagined possible?

Breaking the silence, Bella lifts her head to meet Bridgette’s gaze, her eyes searching for answers and reassurance. What happens now? At the auction, I mean. What role do I play in all of this?

Bridgette’s expression softens, a glimmer of pride shining in her eyes. My doll, tonight, I will present you to the elite members of our society – the most influential and wealthy individuals from around the globe as my special one. I want to show you off to everyone that matters

Bridgette leads Bella to a separate dressing room, where an elegant outfit is laid out on a velvet chaise lounge. The gown is unlike anything Bella has ever seen – a shimmering, translucent fabric that seems to capture and reflect every ray of light. It’s cut to cling to every curve of her body, and in the right light it will hide nothing at all.

This is…incredible, Bella breathes, running her fingers over the delicate material. She can already imagine how it will feel against her skin, the way it will highlight her newly toned physique and platinum hair.

Bridgette smiles, clearly pleased with Bella’s reaction. Only the best for my doll. Tonight, you will be the center of attention, the object of every guest’s desire. And I want them to see just how exquisite you truly are.

A shiver of anticipation runs down Bella’s spine at the thought of being so brazenly displayed. Part of her still rebels against the idea of being reduced to mere eye candy, a trophy to be paraded around for the amusement of others. But another part – the part that craves Bridgette’s approval and yearns to please her in every way possible – thrills at the prospect.

Bridgette circles Bella slowly, her eyes roaming over every inch of her captive’s body with a hunger that makes Bella’s skin tingle. First things first, doll. Let’s get you out of that silly little dress.

Reaching around to the zipper at the back of Bella’s neck, Bridgette slowly drags it downward, the metallic teeth parting with a soft hiss. Cool air rushes over Bella’s exposed skin as the tight latex peels away, revealing her smooth, hairless body underneath.

There now, Bridgette murmurs, tracing a finger along Bella’s spine. Much better. Don’t you agree?

Bella can’t tear her gaze away from Bridgette’s. Y-yes, Mistress, she whispers.

With deliberate slowness, Bridgette slides the dress off Bella’s shoulders, letting it pool around her ankles in a puddle of black rubber. Bella steps out of it obediently, standing naked save for the steel chastity belt locked securely around her waist.

Bridgette drinks in the sight of Bella’s nakedness, her eyes darkening with desire. Exquisite,

Goosebumps rise on Bella’s flesh as the cool air hits her, and she resists the urge to cover herself, remembering Bridgette’s preference for unquestioning obedience.

She watches through lowered lashes as Bridgette retrieves the evening gown from the chaise lounge, laying it out carefully on the bed. The fabric shimmers under the soft lighting, so fine that Bella can see the bedspread through it. Bella’s breath catches at the thought of appearing before the auction guests clad in such a scandalous ensemble.

Arms up, doll, Bridgette instructs, holding the gown open expectantly.

Without hesitation, Bella complies, lifting her arms overhead and allowing Bridgette to slip the garment over her head. The cool material slithers down her body like liquid silk, conforming to every curve and hollow. True to its appearance, the dress clings to Bella like a second skin, offering tantalizing glimpses of the flesh beneath.

Looking down, she gasps softly at the sight of herself. The dress is so revealing that it almost appears as if she’s wearing nothing at all. The gauzy fabric teases with hints of her nakedness, and yet somehow it still looks expensive.

Incredible, Bridgette murmurs, stepping back to admire her handiwork. Absolutely breathtaking.

Staring at her reflection in the full-length mirror, Bella hardly recognizes the woman staring back at her. The translucent gown follows every curve of her body. With her platinum hair styled in loose waves and her makeup applied with expert precision, she looks every inch the sophisticated, seductive companion Bridgette expects her to be.

Yet beneath the veneer of confidence and poise, Bella feels a growing sense of unease. The conversation with Lucien and Genevieve echoes in her mind, their thinly veiled threats and suggestive comments still crawling over her skin. She’s keenly aware of her vulnerability in this place, surrounded by powerful individuals who view her as little more than a commodity to be bought and sold.

As if reading her thoughts, Bridgette steps up behind her, placing a reassuring hand on Bella’s shoulder. Their eyes meet in the mirror, and for a moment, Bella sees a flicker of genuine concern in her captor’s gaze.

Remember, doll, Bridgette murmurs, her voice low and steady. You belong to me. No one else can touch you without my permission.

A lump forms in Bella’s throat.

Despite Bridgette’s reassurances, Bella can’t shake the lingering sense of vulnerability. Her gaze drops to her bare neck, the absence of a collar suddenly feeling like a glaring oversight. She thinks back to the steel collar she found on the vanity that first morning, the way it felt in her hands, cold and heavy with promise.

Mistress, Bella begins hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper. About the collar…

Bridgette’s eyes narrow slightly, a flicker of interest sparking in their depths. What about it, doll?

Bella takes a deep breath, gathering her courage. I…I found one on the vanity. And I tried it on. Just for a moment.

A slow smile spreads across Bridgette’s face, her eyes bright with satisfaction. And how did it feel, my doll?

It felt…right, Bella admits, so quietly Bridgette has to lean in to hear it. Like it belonged there.

Bridgette’s smile widens, and she steps closer, her hand sliding from Bella’s shoulder to cup her cheek. My sweet, obedient doll, she murmurs, her thumb brushing gently over Bella’s lips.

Bella trembles under Bridgette’s touch, caught in a mix of fear and anticipation. She knows that asking for the collar is a significant step, one that will irrevocably change the dynamics between them. And yet, despite the warning bells ringing in her head, she can’t ignore the yearning deep within her soul – the desperate need to belong, to be claimed and protected by the woman who has come to dominate her every waking thought.

Please, Mistress, Bella whispers, her eyes pleading with Bridgette’s reflection in the mirror. I…I want to wear your collar. I want everyone to know that I belong to you.

The words hang heavy in the air, a declaration of surrender and devotion. Bella holds her breath, waiting for Bridgette’s response, praying that she hasn’t overstepped some invisible boundary.

Seconds stretch into eternity before Bridgette finally speaks, her voice low and husky with emotion. My precious doll, she murmurs, her fingers trailing down Bella’s neck, tracing the line where the collar will soon rest. Do you understand what you’re asking for? The weight of the commitment you’re making?

She understands the gravity of her request, the irreversible nature of the commitment she’s about to make. And yet, despite the trepidation gnawing at her insides, she can’t deny the overwhelming sense of rightness that floods through her at the thought of wearing Bridgette’s collar.

I…I do, Mistress, Bella whispers, her voice trembling slightly. I know what it means. And I want it. I want to be yours, completely and utterly.

As the words leave her lips, Bella feels a profound shift within herself – a sense of peace and belonging that transcends the fear and uncertainty that have plagued her since her arrival on the island. She knows, with absolute clarity, that this is the path she is meant to follow, the destiny she was born to fulfill.

Looking up at Bridgette, Bella’s expression is one of pure, unadulterated devotion. Please, Mistress, she pleads softly. Collar me. Make me yours forever.

For a long moment Bridgette says nothing at all. Then she reaches into her pocket…
